The first issue of the Swinerton Quarterly debuted with just eight pages and article submissions from only four of the 1,400 Swinerton employees.
For its 10th issue, more than 100 Swinerton employees submitted stories and photos from their divisions. The publication grew to 64 pages, with a press run of 3,000 copies.
What had started solely as an in-house newsletter, had expanded into an in-demand and very effective business development tool.
The Swinerton Quarterly went on to win the coveted Construction Writers of America T. Randolph Russell Award for Best Employee Newsletter two years in a row.
